Veterinarian

DR MARCUS DEAN

Hi, I’m Marcus. I graduated from Massey in 2004 and worked at VetCare Tauranga for several years before heading to the UK. What was planned as a two-year OE stretched out to a decade, and now my wife and I have returned to the beautiful Bay to continue to raise our family of two young boys.

We also brought with us our feline fur-baby Mischa who was hand-reared from a few days old.  The newest addition is Louis, who was rescued with a severely injured forelimb. The leg could not be saved, and after performing the surgery my family and I decided to adopt the 3-legged cutie, who has now overtaken the household.

I enjoy all aspects of companion animal veterinary practice and have a particular interest in surgery.  I am particularly interested in canine cruciate disease and the surgical stabilisation of these injured joints.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family at home and at the beach, keeping fit, enjoying music and movies, and tinkering with my automotive interests, both four-wheeled and two.
